It doesn't matter the color for shoes while they are in class learning, but when students are performing for recital they must all match. You may drop by or call to discuss attire and what is appropriate and what is not acceptable.
1. All students are required to wear dance clothes. Acceptable attire consists of leotard and tights, jazz pants, and dance skirts. Shirts are acceptable only for warm up.
2. Ballet classes are expected to wear leotards and tights. Skirts are acceptable.
3. Jazz pants are acceptable for jazz, modern, hip hop, tap only.
4. Students must have their hair pulled back in a bun, ponytail, pigtails, etc. If need be, students will be provided with a rubber band.
5. Students need to wear the appropriate shoes for the class they are in.
6. Shirts and shorts are not acceptable dance. This is only acceptable in the cheer/dance team classes.
A dress code is important and necessary in order for the teachers to properly see that the required muscles are being used and to see proper body alignment.
DETAILED DRESS CODE
(The Combo classes must have pink ballet slippers and black tap shoes...look at Walmart and Payless).
Kinder Combo(3yrs-4yrs) - Light Blue Leotard with pink tights and any color ballet shoes/tap shoes.
Starlettes(5yrs-6yrs) - Pink Leotard with any pink tights and any color ballet shoes/tap shoes.
Follies(7yrs-9yrs) - Purple Leotard with any pink tights and any color ballet shoes/tap shoes.
Level III - White Leotard with black color tights and any color ballet shoes.
Level IV - Red Leotard with black color tights and any color ballet shoes.
Level V - Black Leotard with black color tights and any color ballet shoes (We will fit/measure students for pointe shoes or set up an appointment with Footlights to measure students.)
JAZZ, MODERN, TAP, HIP HOP, LYRICAL, CONTEMPORARY, MUSICAL THEATRECLOGGING CLASSES:
*Jazz, Contemporary, Lyrical, and Modern classes must wear leotard of any color and any style. All levels of these styles must wear jazz or yoga pants. Jazz class must wear jazz shoes or sneakers any color/style. Modern class will be barefoot or some type of foot thong, paws, etc.
*Tap, Musical Theatre, and Hip Hop may wear appropriate clothing for this style of dance. Tap class must have tap shoes and Hip Hop must have a type of jazz shoe. Any style of shoe is acceptable at this time.
*Clogging should wear comfortable clothes that you can move in, and clogging shoes.
All attire must be very appropriate. (No vulgar pictures or writing or be too revealing). Remember recital students will have the same style and color of clothing and shoes.
Parents, please take note that you may observe your child at any time thru the windows provided. Please do not allow your child to see you, for this may cause them to stop focusing on the teacher and then the entire class is disrupted.The proper way to have a consultation with a staff member is to make an appointment with the front desk on the day you would like to have a consultation. The office administrator will schedule an appointment.
Parents, in-class observation is not allowed. It is important to keep distractions to a minimum to maximize a child’s learning ability. Please feel free to bring cameras and/or camcorders during in-class observation days.
If you wish to speak with us concerning your child’s progress, please call 870-698-1200 or email (email@example.com) Ms. Shani at the studio before classes begin (3:00 pm), as the instructors are busy teaching classes after 3:30 p.m.
Please be aware that we try to take extra precautions with security and the well-being of all children but please caution your child about staying in the lobby or on the deck and off of the parking lot if they are waiting to be picked up. If your child is 7 or younger, they will be asked to remain inside the studio until their parents pick them up. All preschool children will be held in their classroom until they are picked up. Parents, if you know you will be late picking up your child, please advise the child’s teacher or call the studio. Please remember the teachers have other classes to teach and the receptionist is also busy transporting students. We cannot be baby sitters for children dropped off early or picked up late. Please instruct your child on correct behavior and attitude.
Students may make up lessons in a different class, by the instructor’s assignment, if they have missed a class. Friday & Saturday will be the make up days for snow days, sick days, & paid holidays. This will be at the instructor and students discretion
Parents will be required to sign a statement declaring they have read and understand the above studio policies and that they also understand the physical dangers of dance and will not hold Fusion Dance Academy responsible for injuries sustained while receiving dancing instruction.
